There is something so freeing about finding yourself in nature. Being surrounded by the smell of the earth and the leaves and the trees. Here in Australia I always find in my most challenging moments I find myself yearning for the most natural place and I either head into the bush or to the ocean. In Canada we headed inland, into the mountains and into the forest. We traveled past old red barns and farmers closing down their land for the winter. We drove past trees that had already dropped their leaves, ready for the frost that was just one week behind us. We stood in the cold morning air and felt our fingers turn blue.
And for the very first time in a busy, loud and joyful holiday… I could actually hear my own thoughts… in the quiet of my mind, I was surprised to hear how far I had come, and just how far I had to go.
Have you listened to yourself lately? Do you think you might be surprised by what you hear?
Maxabella - Your photography – your eye on the world – is just amazing, Sash. x
Sash - Thank you! I’d love to be able to do more with it… time is so elusive though, isn’t it?!
