This little chest of drawers was rescued after three days in the rain abandoned on the front verge outside of someones house a few blocks from home. I drove past it for a few days, and every time I said to myself… if it’s still there tomorrow, it’s meant to be ours. Finally my sisters came to town and not only did I have an extra set of hands but also a bigger car to slide this little beauty into the back of. It sat in our front room for weeks before I had the chance to do anything with it. And slowly, over many days it began to be transformed. It was scraped and sanded. It was repaired in places and painted in others, and after several weeks it was given new life. Paired with a coat rack that I made out of the wooden support packaging from a friends new dishwasher and a few old hooks I pulled out of the trash from work… it has made our awkward little entry room a happier place to be.
One man’s trash… another (wo)man’s treasure.

I must have looked .a sight, huge robe on top of a shopping trolley, with Jarvis in the sling. Was so exhausting, but so worth the effort. I hope she turns it into something as pretty as your find
