I’m a HUGE advocate of the whole doing good feels good mindset. When we do good things for other people, we feel good and that lovely warm fuzzy feeling we’ve given someone else encourages them to do good – it’s a lovely cycle that I think is not celebrated enough in this modern world we live in.
I’ve started to get lots of emails from different crafters (I LOVE THIS – if you are a crafter and would like to showcase your awesome skills, give away one of your beautiful creations and share the love – please don’t hesitate to email me) who want to get on board the Inked in Colour train. This makes me super happy. I love people who are doing what they love and I’ll do anything I can to support them to keep on keeping on and making stuff that makes people happy. I got an email a few months ago from a gorgeous woman who not only designs and personally makes super cute crafty items but does them for a good cause. Nothing could float my boat more.
Meet Aleisha. She is the founder of Stitches for Sisters, a beautiful little business that was created in honour of her sister who passed away at birth and her beautiful cousin who was born very early with Cerebral Palsy. With such an emotional connection to the health and well being of premature babies and children Aleisha has put not only her time but her heart and soul into these gorgeous creations. Aleisha sent us a gorgeous crocheted headband, but it’s not just any old headband – it is one that she made especially for Bo, you may notice the colours are very similar to our blog colour scheme and little old Howie even gets pride of place in the middle of the flower. It’s so soft and beautifully handmade, we feel super lucky to have been sent this gorgeous item and I’m sure Bo will wear it for a long time.
Stitches for Sisters uses 50% of every sale to purchase crafting materials that are then used to create beautiful crocheted baby items to donate to kids in need. What they are doing is awesome and should be totally supported. You can check out their gorgeous Etsy store here. The headbands are really affordable and make for a gorgeous gift for any little girl (or little boy, if he’s a flower kind of fellow) and can be custom made. Perfect stocking stuffers for christmas… (I can’t believe we are already talking about Christmas, where has this year gone?!)
Aleisha has kindly offered one Inked in Colour reader their very own personally crafted headband for their special little someone to help celebrate the launch of their company.
Check out the Stitches for Sisters Etsy store and let us know what colour you would choose for your special creation. That’s it. That’s all it takes to be in it… and you’ve got to be in it to win it…

When my angel baby was born, she was given a beautifully crocheted beanie to wear and a tiny dress that someone made. It was so lovely to know that someone was so kind to do this.
