I had a long and rather convoluted conversation with a dear friend the other day about which online reader was the bees knees when it came to collating all of my favourite blogs (and I mean ALL three million of them) so that I never missed a post and I didn’t have to trawl around the internet from one site to another trying to remember web addresses and blog names and… and.. and… let’s face it, after you have kids you have considerably less free time (read: no free time) so ease of use is essential.
The conversation then moved on to Google Reader which is soon being shut down. This is neither here nor there to me because I didn’t even know that it existed. Much to my surprise when I realised there were a couple of hundred people following Inked from a platform that had just become news to me.
But, it’s shutting down. So lovely-just-discovered-new-to-me readers, thanks for following us! And I’m sorry you are losing your beloved platform with which to read your favourite blogs. That’s pretty crap… but as I’m sure you’re aware there are lots of other great platforms out there. I use bloglovin’ which I only discovered a few months ago (I know, for a blogger I am extraordinarily inept when it comes to the ins and the outs of the biz), and I tell you what it rocks. I have the app on my phone and it means I’m reading more blogs than ever and gawking at more awesomeness all on the little screen that follows me around everywhere. Now I read blogs in the line to the bank, or in bed when i have a sleeping baby on my head, or while I cook dinner, or on the loo (yess…. I went there)… can someone say obsessed?
Anyway. Just letting you know, I love it and I reckon you would too. If you want to move on over I saw that bloglovin’ is offering to transfer all of your favourites over from google reader…
Want to follow Inked on bloglovin’? You can do that HERE.
This post was in no way sponsored by Bloglovin’ – I’m just a bit inept when it comes to the internet and it’s the only one I use. Do you love bloglovin’? Or do you have a different favourite reader to help you keep track of your favourite blogs? Share it with us!!
